Author D.L. Clark retired from the U. S. Marine Corps Reserves in December of 2016 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a Weapons Systems Officer (“back-seater”) in the F/A-18 Hornet. He had three combat tours: Iraq 2003 (6 months), Afghanistan 2009 (6 months), and Afghanistan 2012 (11 months).
