A Cafe For Authors and Avid Readers
As an Author, I have been a big music fan all my life. MY SON just went out and purchased some new music by a group Called 'Bone Thugs in Harmony' and by some guy calling himself 'Tech Nine,' and something by Miley Cyrus. Call me old fashion--call me out of touch but today's music--just doesn't do anything for me. I'm still a Beatle's Fan, John Lennon being my favorite--I still listen to Miles Davis, The Temptations, Jackie Wilson, James Brown, Frank Sinatra, Berry White, Barry Manilow, Al Green, Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan, Luthor Vandross, the O'Jays, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, The Mills Brothers, Elvis, Howling Wolf, Eric Clapton, AND MORE. Today's music got nothing on this.---
Not only an author, I'm a big music lover, been one since the day I was born. And that is a fact. I enjoy all kinds of music. But I when compare the music of today to the sounds of yesterday, there is no comparison. Let me say, I'm no fan of today's music at all. Old school music is what I'm about. The great music we no longer hear on the radio. The music of the past, of days and years gone by, is what is played in my house. When I buy music, today, it is always the sounds from the past. It is just better music.
Some people will try to tell you how to think, what to think, and when to think. They will act as if they know your life better than you do. These kinds of people prey on the weak minded, the gullible, the uneducated, and the less informed. These kinds of people are everywhere. They don't care about you, they care about controlling you, and for you to always say that they are right on everything they tell you. Let no one dictate your life or what you do.
'JESUS CHRIST, SON OF MAN, RETURNS'
This epic fictional story is not a sequel to the--Bible; it is not a continuation of Bible. It is a standalone fictional story derived straight from the author’s imagination. There are some real Bible quotes in this fictional story. I confess, I know very little, if anything of or about Bible stories. I rarely had gone to a church of any kind; much less carried an actual Bible. Do I believe in God?
This POWERFUL novel will not please everyone. I do not try to please anyone with this. If you download and read this powerful story, it is at your own peril. Reviews are always welcomed. However, what I do know of the Bible is from reading some parts of it and watching biblical movies as a young child, absorbing content from everywhere, only sometimes attending a church. I don’t know if that counts or not. The biblical movies that I grew up with are The Ten Commandments, The Robe, King of Kings, and many others. They really had intrigued and influenced me on this.
Whether I believe or not, many others truly do. However, there are many people who tout the names of God and Jesus, and actually do not believe at all. They reach for the names to reach those who really do believe,
There will be some who will disagree with just everything in this book, but remember it is only fiction. It is my dream. This is not a condemnation of anyone’s religion. This is not a mockery of the Bible. It is a made up story.
This is true, as a young child, I imaged myself witnessing Jesus Christ walking the Earth again, I was in total glee. If I can remember correctly, and, again, this is true. I stood looking out and over, what I believe to be my late grandmother’s Mary Collins’s apartment outer balcony, which was located on the south side of Chicago. I could have been about seven or eight years old or younger. I was alone looking down on south Michigan Avenue while listening to an old Jackie Wilson song spinning on a turntable. Sounds crazy, but still true. That dream had never left me. Now, I have created a powerful story around that dream. I still question myself to why it took me so long to get that vision down on paper. Some might say this story jumps around a bit, and they may be right. However, I think, that is needed for the story to feel complete and authentic.
The countries mentioned in this fictional story are real but the characters, the settings, the real time happenings, and the other special events are strictly false, and made up by me, the author, as you will easily determine. I did do a little research and that helped to get some ideas going, as I bounced them off my brain. If this story is a hit or a big miss with readers, all I can say is that it was fun for me to write. I had a blast.
Once again, as a young child, I peered down onto the Avenue from the third floor of that building; I would imagine and visualize Jesus walking, preaching and healing those who lined the streets and crosswalks in need, and the Lord was forgiving sin every step of the way. I do not want to give too much away. The only other person who knew of this dream is George Wilder Jr. This was very interesting and, again, so much fun to write. Reviews and feedback are welcome. Enjoy.
