Patricia Puddle's Page

Patricia Puddle lives in the middle of a forest with her husband where she writes and publishes Fantasy Romance and Children's Books. So far Patricia has written three books in her Ominous Series: Fallen Angel (The Prequel), Nathaniel Teen Angel (Book One), and Ominous Love (Book Two). At present she is writing (Book Three) Ominous Angel.

Patricia used her memories of being a mischievous seven-year-old to write and illustrate her Rascals Series: Star-Crossed Rascals & Rascals Sing at The Opera House, which are also available in an updated book called Double Trouble.

Volunteering for a wildlife rescue charity gave Patricia the inspiration to write Molly Gumnut Rescues a Bandicoot.

Velvet Ball and The Broken Fairy is a story about a nine-year-old bald girl who is bullied at school because she has Alopecia. The other main character is a dysfunctional sprite called Roseberry, who can't figure out how to use her powers because she didn't pay attention in Magic School.

Stay tuned for more books by Patricia Puddle.

Molly Gumnut Rescues A Bandicoot:
Adventures Of Molly Mavis by Patricia Puddle

Molly Gumnut loves her neighbour’s cat, but when she catches him attacking a baby bandicoot, she runs screaming into Mrs Wilson’s garden. After shooing the cat away, Molly rescues the injured critter and names him Furble. But when she takes him to the vet, he says she can’t keep him because bandicoots are protected native animals and must to go to a wildlife sanctuary. Molly doesn't let that stop her from keeping Furble. She informs the vet that her grandmother is a volunteer with a wildlife rescue and would gladly look after him. The vet gives in, but Molly is horrified when Grandma insists Furble will be released back to his own territory when his wounds have healed. Molly can’t let that happen, ’cause that’s where the big mean cat lives. Well, no way will she let Tiddles hurt Furble again. She doesn't care if she gets into trouble for yelling at the neighbour, or disobeying her parents. She kidnaps the little bandicoot and takes him on a journey to find him a safer home. When things go badly wrong, Molly realises she’s made a bad mistake. Now Furble’s in more danger and so is Molly.

Message From Author: I volunteer for a wildlife rescue in Australia and a few years ago, I cared for a baby bandicoot that was attacked by a cat. He had wounds on his back and must have been in shock, so he wouldn't eat. I fed him with a bottle of marsupial milk at first, then eventually he ate mealworms and fruit as he recovered. I named him Furble and fell in love with him, though I knew I had to release him back to the huge property where he came from, but I worried about the cat that lived there. The owner was a lovely lady that handed him to me and I explained about the wildlife being attacked at dusk and dawn. Then I started thinking what a child would do if they cared for a bandicoot and had to hand it back. I put myself in a child's head and came up with this story.

Rascals Sing At The Opera House
(Adventures of Rascals, Polly and Gertie Book 2) by Patricia Puddle

Polly and Gertie can't wait to go to the singing festival to compete with other schools. After all, they're going to the Opera House. And that means they'll be famous.

When Miss Badger bans Polly from the choir for singing out of tune, Gertie refuses to go to the festival without her best friend. The headmistress, Mrs Godbolt, can't have that because Gertie is the best singer in the whole school. Polly comes up with a brilliant idea. She says she's a great actress and could easily mime instead of singing. But Miss Badger is horrified. She tells the headmistress that Polly is a walking disaster. After all, she hung her wet underpants on the windowsill to dry and stunk out the classroom. And if they let her go to the Opera House, she’d only wee-wee on the stage and embarrass the whole school.

Well, no way is Polly letting that meanie teacher stop her from going to the festival. How else can she become famous? And she's not leaving Mange behind either. After all, Great Aunt Mabel is back and she doesn't like dogs. She'd only stick him in the shed with the chook poo and feed him fish heads for dinner.

Star-Crossed Rascals (Adventures of Rascals,
Polly and Gertie Book 1) by Patricia Puddle

When seven-year-old Pollyweena Grubble’s parents go away for a week, Great Aunt Mabel comes to babysit. Polly can’t wait for Auntie to meet her best friend, Gertie. But when Auntie learns that the two rascals chewed filthy bubblegum they collected from the pavement, she bans them from playing together, ever again.

Polly’s miserable enough without having to eat Auntie’s disgusting cooking, so when Auntie’s not looking, she stuffs the yucky food in-between the clean sheets in the linen cupboard. Trouble is, the grumpy old sticky beak discovers the filthy mess and sends Polly to bed with no supper.

No one can keep Polly away from her bestest friend in the whole wide world. The next morning as she sits in the basket on Gertie's new bicycle, the two rascals go for a joy ride. But Gertie pedals way to fast and someone’s standing on the footpath. Polly yells at Gertie to stop, but that naughty girl never listens to anybody. Now they're in big trouble with the police, and their crabby old headmistress.

From The Author: Using my memories as a seven-year-old, I wrote this story and turned it into a fictitious children's book for reluctant readers. I enjoyed the trip down memory lane and most things in this story, I did, however the ending is totally fictitious. As this was the first book I ever wrote, I was surprised to receive so many five-star reviews, but so pleased. I was also surprised to get so many sales from middle-aged women and also pensioners in retirement villages. I guess they liked the slap-stick humour and that the story is a quick read. Though the book is also light and easy to hold. I also drew the illustrations, surprising myself as I didn't know I could draw.

With the success of the first book in the Rascals Series, I wrote a second one. The second book is called: Rascals Sing at The Opera House. This story also contains mischievous and gross things that I did and true memories of my childhood, though the ending is totally fictitious also. I enjoyed doing my own illustrations again, but this time they were more complicated and they took longer to draw than to write the story. Though I loved doing the drawings as it was quite relaxing. I'll be writing more books in this series, hopefully they will be enjoyed as much the first two.

Velvet Ball and The Broken Fairy
by Patricia Puddle

Nine-year-old Velvet has had enough of mean kids calling her a pixie just because she's bald. And when Rodney O'Leary yanks her hat off and calls her baldy, she stamps on his foot and takes off through the forest. Tramping through the woods, she watches kangaroos and birds, but when she stops to pick wildflowers, she stumbles upon a fairy caught in the bow of a tree. The fairy promises to grant Velvet a wish if she saves her and proclaims to be Roseberry -- Fairy of Crabtree Forest. Velvet doesn't believe in magic and thinks someone's playing a trick, but she rescues the so-called fairy anyway. But just like she thought, her wish of getting her hair back doesn't work and the sneaky Roseberry tries to escape. But when she tries to fly away, she falls off the tree with a thump. And now, as well as having no magic powers, her wings are broken. Velvet feels sorry for the helpless little sprite and decides to look after her until she recovers. Happy to have a friend, Velvet hides Roseberry in her bedroom, but she soon wonders why she's even bothered to help such an ungrateful little snot. The fairy isn't at all endearing--she's rude, demanding, bad-mannered and spoilt. She acts like a princess, expecting to be waited on. Velvet figures Roseberry doesn't know how to use her powers because she didn't pay attention in Magic School. And when Roseberry deliberately gets her into trouble, Velvet threatens to take her back into the woods. But before she has a chance, Rodney and his gang kidnap her. Realising she cares for the little sprite, Velvet's heart breaks. Now she'll have to rescue Roseberry, or who knows what they'll do to her.

Ominous Book Series

Fallen Angel: Prequel To Nathaniel Teen Angel (Ominous Book 0) by Patricia Puddle

(Extra chapter added 28th November 2014)

When Devlin arrives late for the birth of Eloise O’Conner, he can’t believe his best friend has taken over his position as her guardian angel. Though Devlin pleads with him to hand the child’s guardianship back over to him, Nathaniel refuses. The two angels have been friends for thousands of years, but after seeing how sick and vulnerable the baby is after a difficult birth, Nathaniel isn't willing to risk her life with a tardy, irresponsible angel. Devlin’s new obsession with fallen angels and sexy women seem to be affecting his judgement and Nathaniel believes he’ll be too distracted to guard Eloise. Outraged, Devlin accuses Nathaniel of betrayal and threatens to guide Eloise, with or without his approval. After eighteen years of loneliness and missing his best friend, Nathaniel prays that he'll come to his senses and apologize for his bad behavior, but Devlin has other plans.

Message From Author: I decided to write this prequel because some fans of book one, Ominous Love, said they would have liked more history on why the two guardian angels were feuding over a ward.

In Ominous Love, the main character was a female, but I couldn't make her the MC in this book because she was a newborn at the beginning of the story. So after making one of the male characters the MC, I was able to delve deeper into his psyche and the story just unfolded onto the pages. I discovered why the angels had become best in the first place and why they fought over the same human.

I'm grateful that I was asked for more information about the relationship of the two angels because I loved finding out what the male character was really thinking, plus I discovered so much more about the other characters as well. Although all books are stand-alone stories, they compliment each other and all have the same characters. After Ominous Angel is released later this year, I plan at least two more in this series, if not more. I just hope that this story is enjoyed as much as Ominous Love and I want to thank my fans for their encouragement and messages.

Nathaniel Teen Angel (Ominous Book 1) by Patricia Puddle

After accidentally possessing a young man's body, Nathaniel finds himself in the arms of the beautiful girl he's supposed to be guarding. Though he didn't intend to break God's rules, his wings are burnt off and he's dumped naked in the freezing ocean, and not just for kissing Eloise, but for wanting more. Cold, injured and bleeding, Nathaniel has only one thing on his mind as he drags himself out of the treacherous surf, and that's to see if Eloise feels the same way about him. As he runs naked along the shore to look for some clothes, he’s approached by Lucifer and offered a happy life with Eloise if he sells him his soul. When Nathaniel refuses, Lucifer threatens to give the deal to Devlin, Nathaniel's nemesis.

Message From Author:

Story One, Author: Patricia Puddle:

When I wrote Ominous Love, the first story in this book, I wasn't sure if it would be a series, but when fans asked for more history on the two angels, I decided the write a prequel, which I called Fallen Angel. But then there was more to be told in-between the prequel and Ominous Love, so I wrote Nathaniel teen Angel. As the fans grew to love these characters, I decided to keep the series going, especially since Ominous Love finished with a cliffhanger. Hopefully my fans will love Ominous Angel, the next in the series.

I'm also writing another Romance Series called Innocent Love. Plus A Romantic Drama Comedy called Delusional. I have also written and published many children's books.

Story Two Author: Patti Roberts:

PATTI ROBERTS was born in Brisbane Australia but soon moved to Darwin in the Northern Territory. Her son Luke was born in 1980. Patti now lives in Cairns, Queensland where she is writing the Paradox Series of books. Patti is currently working on a new teen series, Witchwood Estate, which is being published as episodic, short story fiction. trailer -

2015 will see the release of book 5 in the Witchwood novella series - Witches Bitches. And also another installment in the very popular Paradox series titled Elemental. I've just finished my new book "About Three Authors" - holiday romance/drama, I look forward to hearing from you soon, Patti.

Patti also designs book covers and trailers for authors in her spare time, and it is her wish to one day own and operate a writers retreat in FNQAustralia.

Two Heartwarming Christmas Stories: Molly Gumnut Rescues a Bandicoot & Jasmine Lane's Enchanted Christmas by Patricia Puddle (Author),‎ Irene Kueh (Author)

Two Heartwarming Christmas Stories by Patricia Puddle and Irene Kueh

Story One - Molly Gumnut Rescues a Bandicoot

Molly loves her neighbour's cat, but when she catches him attacking a baby bandicoot, she shoos him away and rescues the tiny creature. Realising his back is bleeding, she names him Furble and rushes him to the animal hospital. The vet says Molly can't keep the bandicoot because they're protected native animals and must to go to a wildlife sanctuary and then be released back to their territory. Determined to keep the tiny marsupial, Molly informs him that her grandmother is a volunteer at a local wildlife sanctuary and pleads with him to let her take her take Furble there. When the vet agrees, Molly's relieved because she's sure Grandma won't send Furble back to the cat's garden.

After taking photos of Furble to enter in the Christmas Calendar Contest, Molly's sure she'll win the prize of having his image on the front page; that is until her little sister accidently deletes all her photos. As if her day isn't bad enough, Grandma turns up with the bandicoot, informing her that now his wounds have healed, she'll be releasing him back into the neighbour's garden at dusk. Terrified that Furble will be eaten by the cat, Molly kidnaps him and takes him on a journey to find a safer home. When things go drastically wrong, she realises she's made a bad mistake. Now Furble's in even more danger, and so is Molly.

Story Two - Jasmine Lane's Enchanted Christmas

Jasmine Lane is thrilled when Christmas Eve comes around because it's also her sweet sixteenth birthday. She's thrilled when her parents and the whole neighborhood of Lincolnshire throw her a surprise party, but seeing Scotty Knight, her childhood best friend again is the best present she could have. When she opens a beautiful gift congaing a snow globe, she shakes it with Scotty and they both tumble into an enchanted journey full of adventures.
