A Cafe For Authors and Avid Readers
Hi & Welcome to Taffey the Champ’s Blog!
I hope that everyone is looking forward to having an enjoyable upcoming week.
I decided to take the time this week to give a memorial tribute to the Emmy award-winning Writer and Producer extraordinaire; Stephen J. Cannell.
It is surprising just how many persons out there do not realize that he is no longer with us. The phenomenally talented, Stephen J. Cannell, passed away on September 30, 2010.
This gentleman was an extraordinarily talented genius, yet he struggled with & overcame severe dyslexia to become one of the most brilliant writers in history; which is shocking.
His career lasted for more than 30 years; during which time, he created or co-created more than a whopping 40 television shows.
Stephen J. Cannell wrote more than 450 television scripts & produced (and executively produced) more than 1500 television episodes.
To jog some memories about who Stephen J. Cannell was, some of his Hit television shows shall be mentioned. They are “The Rockford Files”, “The A-Team”, “Hunter”, “Riptide”, “The Greatest American Hero”, “Stingray”, “Hardcastle & McCormick”, “21 Jump Street” (with the exceptional maestro, actor Johnny Depp).
Included among these Hits are his syndicated television shows, “Renegade” & “Silk Stalkings”, which were Hits, as well. Cannell was always the gentleman one would see at the end of many television programs sitting at the typewriter, typing, and throwing the paper behind him (so when the paper landed, an emblem ofCannell Studios would appear). Stephen J. Cannell was Chairman of Cannell Studios.
Stephen J. Cannell also wrote smashing, and quite entertaining novels. One, in particular, that I absolutely love is called “Riding The Snake”.
Please feel free to read it, if interested. Of course, there are more, so feel free to look them up.
One place to discover more about these incredible novels is www.Goodreads.com; most specifically at: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/12469.Stephen_J_Cannell.
Stephen J. Cannell leaves behind an amazing legacy, and he shall not be forgotten.
Take care of yourselves!
