Short Story

Readers who avoid short stories for the novel, complain that too much is left out or too much is compressed into a small space or they were left hanging at the end. Novels can also leave you hanging at the end. I love writing short stories for the reasons that they are short. A great powerful short story stands along side any novel. Being a short story writer and novelist, I know. I'm a very busy guy, I do not have time to spend a year or three on something that I could do a few months or sooner. Some short stories writers, have gotten low reviews for their work, not because it wasn't good, but because some felt that it was too short. A short story for me is 30 to 60 pages long. Anything shorter is not worth my time. Don't forget some of the greatest writers in history were short story writers.
